Now that you have an understanding of why a ministerial status is necessary to operate legally in Metaphysics, the following describes how simply your ministerial status operates.
As stated, you must have a ministerial status to operate legally, apart from your masters and doctoral degree. Once you have been granted ministerial status, you must maintain that status. You must show some relationship between yourself as an independent minister and the parent body, the International Metaphysical Ministry, that gives you the legal right to practice and for justification of the legal use of your degree titles.
This relationship between the International Metaphysical Ministry, as the parent body, and those with a ministerial status has been developed into a very simple system that takes little time and effort. Here is how it works: Upon completion of your first six months of study, your ordination papers will be mailed to you along with twelve Minister’s Monthly Report Forms. These are one-page reports of your monthly activities. Included with these reports will be twelve envelopes for your convenience in mailing them each month. As these reports are received, they are entered into your personal file. Should anyone challenge your ministerial status, your file will reflect your active status. Why is this necessary? Because it provides evidence of a continuing relationship between you, the minister, and the parent organization, the International Metaphysical Ministry. Evidence of a continuing relationship confirms your current ministerial status for the purpose of meeting local civil government codes and ordinances. This evidence of an ongoing affiliation also protects you from the possibility of being confused with a diploma mill mail-order ministry, where a person merely sends in money to the degree issuing office, is issued ordination papers and then, has no further contact with the issuing organization. This lack of a continuing relationship between the minister and the issuing organization could bring the minister’s status into question with various government bodies.
Our system of mailing in monthly report forms demonstrates that you are an active minister with a reputable religious educational organization. What do we mean by “reputable?” Our original parent body ministry was founded in 1959, maintains its own facilities, and has year-round activities. The name was changed in 1989 to the International Metaphysical Ministry to better reflect the scope of the ministry, which has truly become international. Imagine that if you had some legal difficulty about your right to practice, based on your ordination, and found that the organization from which you received your credentials had suddenly disappeared. You could then be in difficulty, legally.
Now that you understand the necessity of having a ministerial status and how it works, the next question in your mind may well be the cost.
The cost to you is $60 yearly. Divided by 12 months, this amounts to only $5.00 monthly, a small sum, indeed, to pay for the ministerial standing in a worldwide ministry to which you are afforded. The $5.00 monthly, or $60 annually, is principally used to cover clerical costs involved in the handling of your monthly reports, necessary entries in your personal minister’s file, etc.
This sum is due at the time of issuance of your ministerial credentials. The date on which you sign the ordination vows commences your yearly cycle of payment.
Remember, this sum is apart from the tuition of your Doctoral Degree Program and, again, is not due until you are on a ministerial status. Incidentally, as surely is apparent, once you have received your ordination papers, you may legally practice. This applies whether or not you plan to continue in the Doctoral Program, providing local and state requirements are met, as explained on the concluding page of this report.
If you were really interested in establishing yourself as a true professional in Metaphysics, would you want someone to check on your background and then spread the word that you had never studied anything at any time and that all you did was to send away a few dollars to some diploma mill ministry? Such operations come and go quickly. We have seen them follow this pattern year after year.
As you are most likely a person of integrity with a sincere interest in the field of Metaphysics, we are sure that you agree that this would be no way to enter this field professionally. Oh yes, some offer to "sell" you a doctoral degree. Would you want others to know that all you did to get a doctoral degree was to send in money, with no study and that you "bought a title?" Of course not. Many have had their work ruined and reputations lost in this way.
Again, this would not be the way to get off to a good start
as a professional in Holistic, New Thought Metaphysics, nor to maintain a good
professional image if you are already practicing professionally in the field. It
would be even more of a shame if you had studied on your own for years and
actually earned your knowledge, to have someone try to discredit you and claim
that you’re not qualified because you received your papers from a diploma
mill. We are certain that you can see the picture clearly.
